Argentine’s police dismissed eight police officers in Pilar, a city close to Buenos Aires, after they justified the disappearance of over a half-ton of seized marijuana saying it had been eaten by mice.

The 540 kg (1,200 lbs) of marijuana that vanished was part of a larger haul of 6,000 kg (13,200 lbs) that had been in storage for two years.

They tend to prefer food, but if rodents had eaten the drug, that amount of THC would likely have killed them. Their bodies would have been found in the warehouse, which was not the case.
