The US has more weapons both in absolute and relative terms than any other country. Americans own between 270 million and 310 million guns—that’s 0.9-1 gun per capita.
Serbia, in second place, has 0.75 guns per capita.
Guns manufactured in the US
The total is skewed by hardcore gun owners. The average gun owner has three weapons, but many have more than eight weapons—and up to 140.
Stephen Paddock, responsible for the mass shooting in Nevada, had 23 guns with him during the attack in Las Vegas and 19 guns in his home nearby.
