The name Harvey peaked in popularity in the US in 2016, with 770 babies given the name, but that should change after Hurricane Harvey.

Parents went from naming more than 1,300 babies as Katrina in 2005 to less than 200 in 2016. Similar drops happened after Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and after Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

But given time, those names might popularize again.

Though Andrew went from being the fifth most popular name in the US in 1992 to tenth in 1993, it went back to being the fifth most popular a decade after the hurricane, in 2003.
