E-commerce giant Alibaba is coming after Amazon Web Services

The Chinese e-commerce company made a $1 billion investment into its cloud computing unit two years ago in an aggressive effort to compete with Amazon Web Services and other cloud businesses.

“Our goal is to overtake Amazon in four years, whether that’s in customers, technology, or worldwide scale,” Alibaba Cloud’s president Simon Hu told Reuters at the time.
